    • Mrs. Louisa Schaefer

      Mrs. Louisa Schaefer, 89, 35 William street, the last member of her family, died Thursday, December 10, at her home. She had been an invalid five years after she fractured her hip.

      A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Umbach, she married John H, Schaefer who died in 1929.

      Surviving are three sons, Alvin and Harold, both of Elmira; John of Kitchener; and seven daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Mary) Mogk, Floradale; Mrs. John (Helma) Kellar, Elmira; Miss Elizabeth Schaefer, at home; Mrs. Edwin (Amelia) Kinsley, Michigan, Mrs. William (Alma) Herchenratter, Kitchener; Mrs. William (Gladys) Hughes, Toronto; and Mrs. Elmer (Esther) Ogram, Wallenstein, and 36 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two sons, two daughters, three grandchildren, four sisters and five brothers predeceased her.

      Funeral was held at Evangelical U.B. Church, Elmira, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. C.B. Heckendorn and Rev. Clayton Wilhelm officiating. Burial was in Elmira Cemetery. The body was resting at Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
