- The death of Edward Oswald, 206 Herbert St., Waterloo, occurred on Sunday at the Toronto General Hospital, where he had been a patient for ten weeks. Deceased was in his 64th year and had been ill for a year. He was born on June 14, 1882, in Balsam Grove, Woolwich Township, and was employed at Seagram's Distillery for ten years. Mr. Oswald attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Oswald. Surviving are his wife, nee Nelda Mattusch of Elmira; one son, Eldon, Canadian Army, Kingston, Jamaica; five brothers: Albert and Alvin of Woolwich Township, Alec of New Dundee, Edwin of Elmira and Oscar of Waterloo; and four sisters: Mrs. William (Clara) Stahlbaum of Elmira, Mrs. Louis (Emma) Kenesky of St. Jacobs, Mrs. Enoch (Edith) Musser of Waterloo and Mrs. H (Lavina) Hess of Guelph. Remains are resting at Dreisinger Funeral Chapel in Elmira until Tuesday at 2: 30 p.m., when service will be held. Rev. C. S. Roberts of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, will officiate, assisted by Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch of St. James' Lutheran Church in Elmira. Burial will be made in Elmira Cemetery.
