  • Notes 
    • The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon of Henry Wittich, whose death occurred on Tuesday morning at his home north of Elmira after a week's illness. It will be held from his late residence at two o'clock to Zion Evangelical church where a service will be conducted by Rev. C. H. Cornwell, assisted by a former pastor, Rev. J. W. Zimmerman of Bridgeport. Interment will be made in the Elmira Cemetery. Mr. Wittich was born June 27, 1863, in Woolwich township. He came to Elmira about 33 years ago where he was engaged in several lines of business for about ten years. He then purchased a farm about one and half miles north of Elmira. Mr. Wittich was twice married, first to Annie Balzer who died about 32 years ago and later he married Elizabeth Bolender. There are living four of the first family and three children of the second marriage.

      The late Mr. Wittich is survived by his wife; five daughters, Eleanor, at home; Olivia, of London; Mrs. George Wiegand, of Kitchener; Mrs. Wm. Bolender, of Elmira and Mrs. Walter Bott, of Elora and two sons, Laverne, at house and Howard, of Middlebrook. Two sisters, Mrs. A. Krampine of New Hamburg and Mrs. John Schondelmeyer of Philadelphia allso survive.
