    • JOHN R. WILKEN

      John R. Wilken, well-known Elmira carpenter, died at the K-W Hospital, Kitchener, Jan. 1, at the age of 88 years.

      Born in Woolwich; Dec. 19, 1860, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wilken: He spent his life in Elmira and district until three years ago when he went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Roy Pontin, 51 Woodland Ave., Kitchener.

      He was a member of St. James's Lutheran Church, Elmira.

      Surviving are five sons, Amsey, Gowanstown; Irvin and Ira, Palmerston; Ralph and Russell, Elmira, and one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Cora) Pontin.

      Services were held in the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Tues- day. Burial was made in St. James's Lutheran Cernetery, Elmira. Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch officiated.
