  Mrs. A. Devitt After an illness of about a week. Mrs. A. W. Devitt of Elmira died at the K.-W. hospital last Friday of a heart attack, following a major operation. She was 61 years old. The late Mrs. Devitt was born in Winterbourne, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Peppler. Thirty-eight years ago she was married to A. W. Devitt, Elmira, and his lived here since then. She was a member of the Gale Presbyterian Church, Elmira, and was active in various organizations of the church. Surviving her are her husband, two daughters, H. A. Wiegand, Kitchener, and Miss Olive Devitt at home; one sister, Mrs. M. Wildfang, Kitchener; two brothers, Alex. and Herbert Peppler, Hanover; and two grandchildren, Donald and Bruce Wiegand. The funeral of the late Mrs. Albert Devitt which was held from her late residence near Elmira on Sunday afternoon was largely attended by relatives and friends. Rev. Mr. Little of Alliston and Rev. Mr. Little, pastor of the Elmira Presbyterian church of which the deceased was a valued member, officiated. During the service, Mr. Oscar Weichel sang a vocal selection. The casket-bearers were: Messrs. George Ruppel, William Moser, George Christman, M. L. Weber, George Reuter and D. S. Erb. Interment was made in the Elmira cemetery. Elmira Signet 25 Jul 1935
