      A foreman at Carling Breweries, Ltd., Martin J. Metzger, 53, of 44 Krug St., died Thursday at the K-W Hospital after a brief illness.

      Mr. Metzger was born Dec. 31, 1899 at Three Bridges, near St. Jacobs, son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Abram Metzger. His wife, the former Violet Michael whom he married in 1921, survives.

      Mr. Metzger was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

      Surviving in addition to his wife, are one son, Philip of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Louise) Leffler and Mrs. Arthur (Margaret) Vogt of Waterloo and Mrs. Jean Guy (June) Lalond of Kitchener; and four grandchildren. One brother, George, predeceased him.

      The body will be at the Ratz Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Sunday when removal was made to St. Mathew's Church of funeral at 2 p. m. with interment in Woodland Cemetery. Rev. Dr. John Schmieder officiated.
