  Violet Reid Passes The death occurred in London today (Wednesday) of Violet Reid, a well-known Ayr resident, in her 79th year. Born in this village in the home now occupied by John Kanmacher, she was a daughter of the late John S. Reid and Isabella Matheson. She lived her entire life here, with the exception of some 15 years spent on the staff of MacDonald College, Guelph. She was a member of Knox United Church. Miss Reid was the last of the family. Funeral service will be held at the W. 0. Ball Funeral Parlor, Ayr, on Saturday afternoon, with interment in Ayr Cemetery. Time to be announced later. The Ayr News Mar 29 1956 pg 9
