Notes |
- FRASER, ALEXANDER
At his home on the 2nd concession of Puslinch, at 11: 30 on Wednesday night, April 5, 1911. He was one of Puslinch Township's oldest residents. He was born in Scotland 87 years ago. He emigrated with his people from Invernesshire, Scotland, when a lad and shortly after landing, settled on the 2nd concession in Puslinch sixty-five years ago, residing on the farm, which he occupied up to death. His wife, Catharine Black, predeceased him three years ago. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian Church and in politics, a staunch Liberal. Survived by three sons and four daughters, Alex of Portage La Prairie; John and William at Lome; Mrs. Forbes of Glen Morris; Mrs. H. Heller on the homestead; Eliza and Annie in New York State. Mr. Fraser was a typical Highlander, genial and hospitable and a most obliging neighbour. Being possessed of a rugged, robust constitution, he was rarely ever ill, until the last year, when he became so crippled with rheumatism and a general breaking up of the system, that he was forced to take to his bed. The funeral was held from his home on Saturday. Rev. Lawrence officiated, interment taking place at Duff's Cemetery in Morriston. Mr. Fraser was well known in Hespeler.
