  Mrs. Francis Powell - Following an illness of two weeks of pneumonia, the death occurred early Saturday morning of Mrs. Francis Powell, Bruce Street, in her 49th year. Deceased, whose maiden name was Ethel Isabelle Ronald, was born in Ayr, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Ronald. Possessed of a pleasant, friendly disposition, she was highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends who will deeply regret her early demise. She was a member of Knox United Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Ilene and Frances, and a sister, Mrs. Hugh Carson, Owen Sound. The funeral took place from her late residence, Bruce Street, on Monday afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery. There was a large attendance of sorrowing friends and relatives, and the floral tributes were beautiful. Rev. J. W. Currie was in charge of the services, and the pallbearers were as follows: Edward Whitson, James Welsh, John W. Henderson, G. S. Dalrymple, Robert Gladstone and Wm. J. Keith.
