    Ayr Plow 
    • In 1882, he bought the Ayr Agricultural Works from John Watson, which was located at the site of Greenwood Park at the intersection of Piper and Church Streets. He renamed it to they Ayr Plow Works and by 1889 the company employed 40 men. It was later renamed the Hilborn Company and became one of the first manufacturers of the Canadian hockey stick.
