      The death occurred in Drumbo on Friday evening of Robert P. Scott, in his 69th year, after an illness which extended over a considerable period. Deceased was born and had resided all his life in this district. He was an employee of the John Watson Mfg. Co., Ayr, for many years and was also Chief of the Ayr Fire Brigade for a number of years. He was known and esteemed by a wide circle of friends who will regret to learn of his passing. He was a member of the United Church. Surviving are his widow, one son, Walter of Kitchener, one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Clement, of Galt; three brothers, Adam of London, Thomas of Richard, Sask., and Chisholm of Ayr, and three sisters, Miss Jean of Guelph, Mrs. S. Bartley of Toronto and Mrs. M. Gray of Sandburn, North Dakota. The funeral took place from the residence of his brother-in-law, George Kyle, Drumbo, to the Ayr Cemetery on Monday afternoon and was largely attended. The services were in charge of Rev. J. W. Currie, assisted by Rev. John Richardson of Drumbo. The pallbearers were as follows: A. L. Easton, Julius Eichler, Wm. Woolsey, Ernest Hooton, J. C. Kyle and James Dalzell.
