Notes |
- BOWIE, Maggie
On Tuesday the Citizens of Ayr learned with deep regret of the death of Miss Maggie Bowie, which entirely unlocked for event took place at the Galt Hospital, on the preceding evening. She had gone to the institution last week to have an operation performed, which was successfully accomplished on Saturday, but heart failure followed, on Tuesday, as stated. The deceased, who was in her 44th year, was born in Ayr and had lived here all her life, until a few months ago, since which time she had resided in Galt. A wide circle of friends will extend their sympathy to the bereaved brothers and sisters, viz., John at Wheatfield, Ind. ; James, at Brampton ; Ivan, in Ayr ; Annie, David, Mrs. Chas. Boulton and Mrs. H. M. Bonham, Galt. The funeral took place yesterday, interment being made in the Aye Cemetery. The pallbearers were deceased's three brothers, two brothers-in-law and a nephew. Rev. D. I. Ellison conducted the services.
