  Mrs. Robert Elliott - The death occurred Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Black, in Toronto, of Mrs. Robert Elliott, in her 88th year. The late Mrs. Elliott, whose maiden name was Annie Holdaway, was born in England, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Holdaway. When she was 12 years of age, the family emigrated to this country and settled In Ayr, where they took up residence in the house now occupied by Erb Clark. Following her marriage to the late Robert Elliott, they resided in this village for the better part of their lives, where Mr. Elliott was employed with the Goldie Milling Company and, later, the bridge and building department of the C.P.R. The late Mrs. Elliott had spent the summer months at the home of her son. H. C. Elliott, in Ayr previous to leaving for Toronto to visit with her daughter. Surviving are two sons, Henry of Ayr, and William of Galt, and one daughter, Mrs. William Black (Ada) of Toronto. One sister, Mrs. R. Chesney, of Paris, also survives. The funeral was held from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor this (Wednesday) afternoon, with interment in Ayr Cemetery. The Ayr News Feb 17 1949 pg 9
