- Death of Rev. D. McRuer
The News has received word of the death in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Saturday, Dec. 10th, 1933, of Rev. Duncan McRuer, a native of Ayr, at the age of 69. Deceased was a son of the late Rev. Duncan McRuer, who had charge of Knox Church, Ayr, until 1870, when he left for the United States. He was followed in the pastorate by the late Rev. Dr. John Thomson, who took charge in 1871. Rev. Mr. McRuer, whose death occurred on Dec. 10th, is survived by his widow and one daughter, Esther. His younger brother, Donald, died suddenly of heart trouble two months ago at Phoenix, Arizona. His elder brother, John, whom some of the older Ayr residents will remember, died at Kansas City, Mo., in July, 1921.
