  J.P. Martin, Gents' Furnishings, Boots, Shoes, etc., Main Street - The business now conducted by the above mentioned gentleman has been established for the past fifteen years, Mr. Martin having succeeded to it two years ago. The premises, which are large and commodious, being 28x65 feet in dimensions and three stories in height, are most eligibly located in the business heart of the town. A large and well selected stock of boots and shoes and gents' furnishings, as well as a beautiful selection of furs, is carried, from which the most fastidious can make a selection. Mr. Martin purchases his stock direct from first hands and, closely watching the market, is enabled to by at bottom figures, and thus give his customers the benefit. All the latest designs and most fashionable novelties in the lines dealt in are carried in stock. On the upper floor custom work shoes are manufactured from the finest kid to the heaviest kip, and of the most fashionable designs, the workmanship being unsurpassed by that of any other maker in the Dominion. The business of the house extends throughout the town and surrounding country, and is constantly extending under Mr. Martin's able and judicious management. Employment is given to four careful and obliging assistants, who are always pleased to show goods. Mr. Martin is a native of Montreal, and is a smart, energetic and enterprising business man, who merits the esteem of the community.
