  Death Of Adam Douglas Sudden Passing of Prominent Citizen, Aged 80 Years Adam Douglas, one of the most prominent and highly esteemed residents of this community, passed away in Galt Hospital on Monday morning at 2.30 o'clock. He was stricken with a heart attack on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock and was taken to the hospital at 8 o' clock. Mr. Douglas was born at OrchardviIle, Grey County, midway between Mount Forest and Durham, 80 years ago. He came to Ayr 50 years ago and worked for three years with John D. Moore, North Dumfries, He was also employed by James Robson, Ayr, for a year and a half, after which he worked at the Goldie Flour Mills, Greenfield, for a period of 20 years. In 1909, he commenced farming operations on the Fergus Anderson farm, 10th concession of Blenheim. He sold out in 1920 and came to Ayr to reside. Mr. Douglas was a former member of the board of managers of Knox Church, and latterly was a member of the board of managers of the Ayr Presbyterian Congregation. Surviving are one son, Clare, at home, and one daughter, Mrs. F. H. Dunn (Mary Belle) of Walkervllle, and five grandchildren. His wife, Margaret W. Lake, predeceased him June 29, 1931. - The Funeral - The funeral took place from his late residence this (Wednesday) afternoon at 2.30 o'clock to the Ayr Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. James D. Smart, Pastor of Knox's Presbyterian Church, Galt, while the pallbearers were: Wm. R. Bain, George Easton, Wm. G. Edgar, J. J. Hodgdon, A. G. Laurie, and Harry Hatch, Paris.
