Notes |
- Death of Mrs. M. E. Morton
Native of Blenheim Township Passes In Her 77th year.
The many dear friends of Mrs. Morton will mourn with deep feelings of sorrow deep regret at her passing beyond the bourn whence no traveller ere returns.
Mrs. Morton passed on after nine days' illness from heart trouble on November 4th at her home on Northumberland street. She will be very much missed from Ayr and community and from church and gatherings of the better class. A mother in Israel, walking ever •with her Lord and Master, she went about doing good. A kindly, refined, comforting, Christian lady, held, in the highest respect and esteem, beloved by all now gone to be forever with her Lord and Saviour, and loved ones gone before, in the Glory that eye hath not seen.
Mrs. Morton was born near Drumbo, in the township of Blenheim, 76 years ago and lived in this community, near Ayr, practically all her life. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McFadden.. She was married to John Morton in 1885. The children of this union were: Norman, Margaret and Elizabeth, all of whom, with seven grandchildren, and a sister and brother, are left to mourn the passing of one of God's own dearest and best.
The funeral, in charge of Messrs. Ball and Son, was largely attended; and took place on Saturday, November 7th, at 3.30 p.m., from the Morton farm homestead to the Ayr Cemetery. The Rev. J. W. Currie conducted the funeral service.
