  Death Occurs Suddenly Wellington Nickerson Passes Away in Galt Hospital on Sunday - The community was shocked on Sunday morning to learn of the sudden death in Galt Hospital of Wellington Nickerson, following an emergent operation. Deceased was taken seriously ill early Thursday morning and was removed to Galt Hospital Saturday night, where an operation was decided upon. It was subsequently found that he had been suffering from an obstruction in the bowel which had apparently been recently aggravated. Following the operation his condition gradually became worse and he passed away at 8.30 o'clock Sunday morning. Wellington was born Ayr 32 years ago and had resided here all of his lifetime. He was a leader in the sporting activities of the community, and during the past season was playing-manager of the Rangers softball team. Of a generous, kind-hearted disposition, he was highly esteemed by many friends and his early ? regretted. He was a valued member of Dolman Lodge, I. 0. 0. F., and took a leading part in the social activities of that organization. He was also a member of Knox United Church. Besides his widow, whose maiden name was Margaret McCloy, he is survived by one son, Norman, aged 2 years; also by his mother, Mrs. Mary Nickerson, and one brother, Laidlaw, of London. His father, the late Albert Nickerson, died April 2, 1931. The surviving members of his family will have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. - The Funeral - The funeral took place from his late residence to the Ayr Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon and was the most largely attended in many years.
