    • George Cress Passes

      A former Ayr resident, George Cress, passed away suddenly in Calgary on Saturday. He was in his 83rd year. Born in the former Cress house on Willison St., he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Cress. He received his education in Ayr, after which he worked in the village with his father, who was a carpenter. He then went West where he had resided for many years. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Tessie Henderson. Surviving are one brother, Clarence (Ted) Cress of Port Credit, and four sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Dennis, Kitchener; Mrs. Roy (Bessie) Luce, London; Mrs. Gordon (Lena) Kaufman, Perry's Corners, and Mrs. E. F. (Margaret) Robson, Toronto. Funeral service was held in Calgary on Wednesday.
