Notes |
- Mrs. John E. Allan - Daughter of the Late William Patterson Passes in Her 61st Year - the death occurred Friday morning at her home on the East River road, Galt, of Maude Ethel Patterson, wife of John Edward Allan, in her 61st year. Mrs. Allan, who was devoted to her home and her family, was the mother of Mrs. George Denison, Ninth Concession, Galt, and Mrs. Harold Lough, R.N., Waterloo. The late Mrs. Allan was the youngest daughter of the late William and Jeannet Patterson of Ayr. She was a faithful member of Central Presbyterian Church and was active in the work of the Women's Missionary Society, of which she was an honorary life member. She was also a former Home Helpers secretary for the Guelph Presbyterial. She was a lover of flowers and her flower garden was admired and enjoyed by many who passed by her home. Besides her husband and two daughters, she leaves a small grandson, Jackie Lough, whose father is now serving with the Highland Light Infantry in France. Three brothers and five sisters predeceased her. The fune4ral took place from the T. Little and Son Ltd. Funeral Home, Galt, on Monday afternoon, interment being made in Ayr Cemetery.
