  Henry Gmelin about 1876 - came to Ayr (after serving tinsmith apprenticeship in St George) and took over a tinsmithing business in a store later owned by O.T. Ball. Later he built and occupied the building owned by H. Roy Graham. About1899 - did so well that sold his business and retired. Sold to M.J. Otto, who ten years later sold it to Mr Graham
