      W. D. Watson Dead

      PROMINENT AYR MAN PASSES AWAY.

      The death occurred in Ayr on Monday morning of Mr. W. D. Watson, secretary-treasurer of the Watson Manufacturing Company, of Ayr. The deceased was one of the most prominent and respected residents of the community, and his death will come as a severe shock to his many friends and acquaintances throughout Western Ontario, and the village of Ayr will sustain a severe loss.

      The deceased was born in the old Watson homestead in Ayr 51 years ago, as which place his death took place. He was a sufferer from internal trouble for some time, and his death was not entirely unexpected.

      He was prominently connected with the affairs of the village, having been Reeve of the village to a number of years, a member of the County Council for some time, and member of the Public School and Pablic Library Boards He was a member of the I.O.F. and I.O.O. F.

      The deceased leaves a widow and three brothers and one sister, as fol ows: Messers, Jno. G. Watson, A. E Watson, and Miss Elizabeth Watson of Ayr, and Mr. M. U. Watson, of the Macdonald Institute, Guelph.

      The funeral took place on Wednesday at 3.30 o'clock to Knox Church Ayr, and thence to the Ayr Cemetery.
