      Native of this Village Passes in her 90th year

      The death occurred on Sunday of one of Ayr's oldest native-born residents in the person of Mrs. Jessie Murray Watson, widow of William Dolman Watson, in her 90th year. Mrs. Watson was born in Ayr in 1857, being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Murray, Scottish pioneers.

      Mrs. Watson was a member of Knox United Church and in her younger days was quite active in the different church organizations. During World War I she assisted in organizing and was an energetic worker of the Ayr Patriotic Society which did such splendid work in provided the Red Cross with much needed supplies.

      She is survived by one brother, Alexander Murray of Ayr. Her husband predeceased her in 1907.

      The Funeral

      The funeral, which was private, took place from the home of Miss M. U. Watson, Bruce street, on Tuesday afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery. Rev. R. A. Steed, pastor of Knox United Church, conducted the services, and the pallbearers were: John T. Gillies, J. P. Ritchie, G. S. Dalrymple, John Henderson, Robert Lovett, Toronto, and Percy Marsh, Montreal.
