  A Mrs. Burgy, living one and one- half miles west of Freeport, in the town of Bowne, Kent county, the wife of a highly respected citizen and wife of five children, on Wednesday afternoon last shot dead with a revolver two of her children, and, it is feared, mortally wounded another, the oldest being a boy of 8, the other two, girls, younger. On the morning of the tragedy Mr. Burgy went to his work, haying, across the river one and one-half miles distant, taking his dinner. Dur-....as yet unsolved. About a year ago Mrs. B. showed signs of insanity, and was sent to Canada, her former home. When she returned it was supposed she had recovered, but within a few days previous to the tragedy showed signs of returning insanity. Nashville News. _________ TERRIBLE. Wholesale Child Murder and Suicide by an Insaue Woman. HANTINOR, July 3, 1879.-About 3 o'clock yesterday, at Free Port, Mrs. Bergy shot and instantly killed two of her children and fatally wounded another, and then shot herself. She is presumed to have been insane, as evidences of insanity had been discovered some time since in an attempt on the life of ber brother with a butcher, knife.
