- Miss Adelia Jane Smuck passed away in Galt General Hospital on Saturday in her 91st year. She recently fractured her hip in a fall at her home. Born in South Dumfries township, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Louisa Smuck, and had resided all her life in Ayr and nearby centres. Two sisters survive: Mrs. Ella Cross, Elmira Nursing Home, and Mrs. Bertha Crandell, Galt. The funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon at the residence of her nephew, Currie Smuck, South Dumfries, with Rev. W. D. Goodger officiating. Interment was made in the Ayr Cemetery. The pallbearers were: John T. Kennedy, Thomas Ritchie, Ralph and Leslie Markle, John T. Hall and Charles Gunn.
