Highly Esteemed Resident Passes Suddenly on. Sunday Night
Anna. Turner, widow of the late John Pickett, died at 11 o'clock on Sunday night at her home on Stanley street.
Deceased, who was in her 76th year, had been ill about six weeks. She was born in Quebec province, along the Ottawa River and at the age of five years came with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. August Turner, to settle at New Dundee. She came to Ayr at the time of her marriage 56 years ago and had resided here ever since. Her husband predeceased her in 1914. She was a member of the United Church.
Surviving are one son, Hilborn Pickett, Fort Erie, and two sisters, Mrs. P. Maeder, Ayr, and Mrs. F. Melitzer, Bridgeport. The funeral took place this (Wednesday) afternoon at 2 p.m., with service at Wilson's Funeral Home on Hall street and interment in the Ayr Cemetery.
