Notes |
- AYRES, Janet Lillian (Nee Boehmer) - Radiant and brave at the age of 63, Janet slipped away peacefully at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital early on Tuesday, April 24th after fighting Lymphoma with grace for over a year. Janet leaves behind her devoted husband of 43 years, Richard; her cherished daughters, Shelley (Craig), Kristen (Quinton), and beloved grandchildren Mabel, Mia, Griffin and Kali. Janet is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Boehmer and mother-in-law Lucy Ayres, and will be sadly missed by her brother Brian Boehmer (Linda) of Waterloo, and sister Nancy Shaver (Steven) of Ottawa. Aunt JJ was also very special to many nieces and nephews and had many cousins whom she adored seeing at Plomske gatherings. She is predeceased by her father Carl, father-in-law David and brother-in-law Brian. Janet was an incredibly bright star, shining on all she touched. A long standing member of Beta Sigma Phi. A strong athlete who loved tennis, running and yoga. A wonderful friend to her 'Euchre Girls' who were like sisters to her for over 35 years. Grandma JJ as she was affectionately known, was playful, involved and completely active in the lives of her grandchildren, attending school concerts and cheering at hockey games until her final days. Family meant the world to Janet. She created lasting memories through holidays and traditions and held on to celebrate Easter one last time, sharing her special gifts as a cook and host. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care of Dr. John Simpson in Uxbridge and Dr. Rena Buckstein at Sunnybrook Hospital; along with the caring nurses at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Friday, April 27th, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Beta Sigma Phi memorial at 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hematology site group within the Sunnybrook Foundation. www.dennistoll.ca. 11278254
