  David Gingerich, "son of John and Anna (Hackman) Gingerich, was born in 1812. He was married to Lydia, daughter of John and Catharine (Gehman) Weber. They resided on the farm now possessed by Solomon Sheifley, south of Conestogo. They had a family of twelve children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
