  CONKEY, JOHN JAMES A resident of Hespeler for the past three and a half years, on Sunday, June 16, 1940, in his 75th year. He had been ill since suffering a stroke some two years ago. Born in North Dumfries Township, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Conkey, she spent the greater part of his life in the Galt district. He was a machinist by trade. Surviving is his wife, Elmina Thaler. Service at the Stager and Co. Funeral Chapel on Tuesday at 2: 30, conducted by Rev. T. G. Marshall, minister of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Interment Hespeler Cemetery. Pallbearers: E. Keinkes of Branchton; H. Zinn and E. Meller of Galt; Herbert L. Ott, George Stark and James Armstrong of Hespeler.
