  John Ahern, Chief of Police Chief Ahern is a man of experience in his special line. He served seven years on the St. Catharines police force and ten years in Galt. Mr. Ahern was born on the Isle of Wight in 1847 and spent the early years of his life a seaman, having circumnavigated the globe several times.
