  STEELE, FRANCIS "FRANK" A resident of Galt for the past sixty years, of 40 Dumfries St. , on Monday afternoon, May 1, 1961, at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. Son of the late James Steele and Katherine Kerr, he was born in the Dickie Settlement on Dec. 12, 1875. He farmed at Aberfoyle in Puslinch Township prior to coming to Galt, where he had been a machinist at Babcock, Wilcox and Goldie McCulloch for twenty years. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, of the Independent Order of Foresters and a charter member of the Old Amity Club. Surviving are his wife, Louise Oldfield; a son, William of Galt; a daughter, Edith, at home; and four grandchildren. Service at the W. R. Coutts Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2. Rev. Duncan Farris of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church officiated. It was largely attended and there were many beautiful floral tributes. Pallbearers: Fred Rayfield, Arthur Garlick, Robert Law, Byng Chesney, Oscar Pickard and Ernest Robertson. Interment Mount View Cemetery.
