    • O'KRAFKA, Peter Douglas March 19, 1952 - January 5, 2011 Peter passed peacefully into God's arms with his loving wife Debbie and his son Jonathan and Patty O'Krafka and daughter Melissa O'Krafka and Scott Ginson at his side. Peter was the son of the late Harry "Steve" and Helen (Ringler) and son-in-law of John and Wilma Irvin. He is survived by sisters Sharon and (Dana Anderson) and Katherine (John Collins) and brothers Steven (Linda) and Paul (Dianne), brother- in-law Ed Irvin (Margaret) and sister in-law Judy Shantz (Robert). Peter is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Peter was a highly talented water skier specializing in the jump event. He competed locally, provincially and nationally. He also skied in many water ski shows at Puslinch Lake, Galt, Fort Erie, Durham and New Hamburg. Peter enjoyed many years on the Ski Patrol at Chicopee Ski Club, as a patrol, a team captain, and leader of the CSPS. Over a lengthy career, Peter worked with O'Krafka Bros., Robco Electric and E. & E. Seegmiller. After his early retirement, due to ill health, he spent many happy hours with friends and colleagues at the Company of Neighbours. He was proud of his heritage in the Town of Hespeler and worked on the last Great Hespeler Reunion. He was known as the "Man Around Town with the Camera." Thank you to his family at St. James' Anglican Church and especially to Father George Ferris for his wonderful support of Peter and the family. Peter was well cared for by Dr. James Gowing, Dr. Glenn Martin, Dr. Jay Baker, Dr. Kumar and Dr. Mark Benaroia, the staff of Medical Day Care at CMH, Laurie Paddock of E.T. Now, and CCAC. Peter will be remembered by all who knew him as the most kind, gentle, witty and caring man, who had a phone call for everyone. Friends are invited to share their memories at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge, on Friday, January 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8th with visiting from 1 - 2 and service at 2 p.m. at St. James' Anglican Church, 520 Ellis Road, Cambridge.
