Notes |
- WALTER, APPLEYARD
The sudden passing of Walter Appleyard at his home in Hamilton, on Saturday, came as a shock to his many friends in the city. Born in Bracebridge, the youngest son of James Appleyard and Mary Byecroft and with the exception of a few years in Toronto, Colborne and Rochester, his life was spent in Galt, until leaving for Hamilton seven years ago. He was well known in his younger days as a baseball player. He was a member of Alma Lodge, A. P. and A. M., Galt. Surviving are his widow, Caroline Appleyard and two daughters, June and Alice, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Alex Thomson, Ayr; Mrs. W. T. Murray, Ottawa, and Mrs. W. G. Fallen, Galt; three brothers, George of Galt, Arthur of Aylmer and James of London. The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon from Hamilton, with a service in Young's Memorial chapel, Galt, at 3.15. Interment will be in Mount View cemetery.
