  Charlotte Louise Bennetto, wife of Thomas McGiverin, was the daughter of Israel Bennetto and Philadephia Hooper Bennetto of Lambeth, London, England, and later of Hamilton, Ontario. Charlotte Louise was born in the Lambeth Registration District on 10 August 1847, and came to Hamilton in Canada West with her parents and siblings as a young child. Her father, Israel Bennetto, died at Hamilton on 31 Aug 1859 -- Charlotte was just barely 12 years old. Charlotte's younger sister, Susan Elizabeth Bennetto, eventually became a school teacher, and served the Hamilton School Board for over 52 years. She was the first woman Principal in the City of Hamilton -- quite an achievement for the times -- and which is why I became interested in tracing this family. Email of Beth Mills 2012
