  Josiah Hallman, "was born April 19th, 1853. He is married to Catharine Ann Cassel. They reside in Blenheim Township, Oxford County, not far from Washington P.O., where he is engaged in farming. Their family consists of four children". Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. ___________________ "Word was received here today of the death in Calgary yesterday of Josiah Hallman, former Wilmot Tp. farmer and reeve who celebrated his 99th birthday on Saturday. Mr. Hallman, who had moved to Alberta in 1905, was living with his daughter, Mrs. Rupert Snell, at the time of his death. He was born near New Dundee and farmed the home farm in Wilmot for many years. During that period he was a township councillor and reeve. His wife, the former Catharine Anne Cassel of Wilmot, died about 26 years ago. Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Snell, are two sons, E. C. Hallman and Herbert of Edmonton and a sister, Mrs. Oliver Betzner, 25 Samuel St., Kitchener." KW Record obit. of Tues., Apr. 22, 1952
