- "A highly esteemed resident of Wallace Tp., Mr. Isaiah Hallman passed away in Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday morning Nov. 27, 1940 in his 73rd year. He was taken to Listowel Hospital on Friday last but his condition was not thought serious. He had not been in good health for several years. Mr.Hallman was born on the 2nd Conc. Wallace April 6, 1868 and farmed all his life in Wallace. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Evangelical Church and trustee on the Church board for several years and regularly attended Sunday School. In Dec. 1894 he was married to Lena Bender who predeceased him Nov. 5, 1895. In 1902 he was married to Louisa Bender who survives him with four sons: Herbert of the 3rd Conc., Wallace; Wilfred of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Alvin of Niagara Falls, Ont.; and Earl at home.Three daughters: Mrs. G. Robbins and Mrs. Irwin Kirk of Niagara Falls,Ont.; and Miss Dorothy Hallman of Toronto. There are also four grandchildren, two brothers Menno and Ephraim Hallman of Vancouver, and two sisters, Mrs. John Liesemer of Didsbury, Alta. and Mrs. George Dippel of Kitchener."
