Schultz, Samuel L., son of Menno and Elizabeth (Litwiller) Schultz, was born in Perth Co., Ont., Feb. 26, 1883; died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sam N. Schultz, June 14, 1966; aged 83 y. 3 m. 19 d. On Jan. 18, 1910, he was married to Annie Leis, who died Jan. 22, 1964. Surviving are one daughter (Beatrice - Mrs. Sam N. Schultz), 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Seven brothers and 3 sisters predeceased him. He was ordained as a minister at Maple View, near Wellesley, Ont., on June 5, 1938, and served as bishop from Dec. 21, 1941, to October 14, 1956. He also served as moderator of the Ontario A.M. Conference. Funeral services were conducted at the Maple View Chuch, June 17, by Chris O. Erb, Chris Streicher, and Alvin Leis.

Mapleview Mennonite Bishop Dies

WELLESLEY\emdash Bishop Samuel L. Schultz, 83, retired pastor of Mapleview Mennonite Church, died suddenly Monday at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel N. Schultz, RR 2, Wellesley.
Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Menno Schultz, he was born in North Easthope Township, Feb. 26, 1883.
He had farmed in Wellesley Township, retiring in 1951.
He was ordained a minister June 5, 1938, and a bishop Dec. 21, 1941. He retired as bishop Oct. 14, 1956.
He was moderator of the Western Ontario Mennonite Conference for a number of years.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Annie Leif, in 1964, and by seven brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Samuel N. (Beatrice) Schultz, Kingwood (RR 2, Wellesley); four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body will be at the Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley, until 10 a.m. Wednesday when removal will be made to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel N. Schultz of Kingwood.
The body will be at the Schultz, home until 11 a.m. Friday when removal will be made to Mapleview Mennonite Church for a funeral service at 2:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Mapleview Mennonite cemetery.
Donations to the Western Ontario Mennonite Mission Board will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
