- MCKELLAR, DUNCAN
One of the district's oldest oldtimers, suddenly, at his home at Kilkerran, Peace River, BC. He was 74 years old. Mr. McKellar had been in western Canada since 1896 and in the Peace River block since 1920. He moved to the Kilkerran district in 1923. He was the original owner of the property that most of Dawson Creek's present businesses are now situated. Mr. McKellar was a native of Puslinch Township, elder son of Alexander McKellar and Elizabeth Scott of lot 2, Gore of Puslinch. He leaves to mourn, his wife, four sons, Arthur, Alex, Gordon and Howard; eleven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Stewart; and a brother, James. Interment Dawson Creek Cemetery.

-Information from the marriage certificate of Margaret J. McKellar: Born c. 1870, daughter of Alexander McKellar and Elizabeth Scott. In 1897, she married William R. Stewart of Fort McLeod, AB, a rancher.
