- Late George B. Ross
Former Resident of Ayr Buried Here on Monday - The funeral took place to the Ayr Cemetery on Monday morning, upon the arrival of the C.P.R. train, of the late George B Ross of Yorkton, Sask., whose death occurred on Thursday, in his 64th year. A short service was held at the funeral parlor of O. T. Ball, before proceeding to the cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. Andrew L. Easton, J. Q. Reid, William Manson, P. L. Gourlay, J. A. Manson and J. Marshall Anderson, while the services were in charge of Rev. Patterson Hall, pastor of Knox Church, Galt. The late Mr. Ross was born in Dundas and resided in Ayr some 33 years ago, where he was employed as a millwright at the Greenfield mills at the time when the flour milling machinery was being installed. He was later connected with the firm of Goldie & McCullough, Galt, and left for the west 25 years ago. Besides his wife, whose maiden name was Nellie Anderson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson, Ayr, he is survived by three sons, William of Brandon, John of Yorkton and George of Queens University, Kingston. Mrs. J. A. Manson is a sister-in-law, and J. Marshall Anderson and W. H. Anderson of Galt, brothers-in-law.
