- CUNNINGTON, CLARENCE
Mr. Cunnington of River Road, Hespeler, in his 69th year, in the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday morning, August 31, 1965. Born in Peel County, he was the son of the late George Cunnington and Mary Jane Maltby. He has been a resident of Hespeler for the past twenty years, coming to the town from Puslinch Township. He retired in October 1964 from the Hespeler St. Mary's Wood Specialties Co., after seventeen years with the firm. He was a member of St. Luke's United Church and a member of the session. He was also a World War I veteran. Surviving are his wife, Isabel Ord; three sons, George and Jack of Guelph; Edward of Toronto; one daughter, Isabel (Mrs. Jack Sykes) of R. R. #1, Preston; five brothers, Joseph, Harry, Albert, Cecil and Roy, all of Brampton; and ten grandchildren. Nelson Funeral Home, 23 Galt St. in Hespeler. Service at St. Luke's United Church on Thursday at 2, conducted by Rev. James Lawson of Saint Luke's United Church. Mrs. Jack Krueger sang a solo, " The City Foursquare", accompanied on the organ by Gerald Ziegler. Pallbearers: Elgin Cunnington of Brampton; Dick Gilmour of Aberfoyle; Ralph Strickland, Ivan Ott, Bernard Deemert and Jack Krueger, all of Hespeler. Honorary pallbearers: William Bolger of Guelph; Thomas Maltby of R. R. #2, Guelph; along with members of the Kirk Session. Interment Crown Cemetery, Puslinch. Rev. S. W. Gentle officiated.
