  The parents of George McIntosh were James McIntosh and Elizabeth Jenkins. George was born 2/24/1867 and baptized in Plumstead, Kent, England (GRO record available). George emigrated to Canada in 1869 with his father James McIntosh, half-sister Mary Ann, half-brother Henry, and sister Alice. George and Alice were residents of the Waterloo house of industry and refuge. Alice was adopted by a local family, August and Caroline Meinke of Berlin. She eventually married William Bernhardt.
