Mr. Jarvis served on the Galt council from 1916 to 1918 serving on the cemetery, industrial and reception committees. He retired from the bank in 1915 and became active in the Galt Patriotic Fund, operating as that organization's treasurer. In addition, Mr. Jarvis served as the president of the Galt Horse Show

    • F.S. JARVIS 1851-1933

      Frederick S. Jarvis was born in Stratford, Ontario in 1851 and came to Galt in 1896 as manager of the Galt branch of the Merchants Bank of Canada. He was the manager when that bank merged with the Bank of Montreal. Mr. Jarvis served on the Galt council from 1916 to 1918 serving on the cemetery, industrial and reception committees. He retired from the bank in 1915 and became active in the Galt Patriotic Fund, operating as that organization's treasurer. In addition, Mr. Jarvis served as the president of the Galt Horse Show which operated between 1902 and 1912. Mr. Jarvis died on April 6, 1933 and is buried in Trinity Anglican Cemetery.
