  Alymer was an active member of Galt's industrial community. He was president of Galt Metal Industries, he was one of the founders of the Canadian Toy Manufacturers Association. Aylmer Elliott, 43 Brook St., Galt, a life long prominently known and highly respected citizen, who was active in many spheres of community endeavor, died Wednesday evening, at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. In his 76th. year the deceased had been ailing for the past two weeks. Born in Galt, the son of the late Robert Elliott and the former Emma Stevens, the late Mr. Elliott resided here all his life. Like other members of his family the deceased was active in the industrial life of the city, being a former president, general-manager of the Galt Metal Industries, now Walker Manufacturing. In 1958 he sold his interest in the firm and has since acted as a consultant for Walker. A director of the Metal stamping division of the Canadian Auto Parts Association, the late Mr. Elliott was also one of the founders and a former director of the Canadian Toy Manufacturing Association. A member of Central Presbyterian Church, he was also a member of the Senignory Club, Montebelo, Quebec and a member of the Windsor Club, Windsor. Active in sports the late Mr. Elliott was a member and past president of the Galt Curling Club. His wife. the former Gladys Evans. predeceased him in Sept. this year. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Leslie. C. (Peggy) Farris, Galt; Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Jackson, Montreal; Miss Jean Elliott, Peterborough and Mrs. D'Arcy (Mary) de la Plante, of Galt. Eleven grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by four brothers, Thomas G., Robert, John and Albert. Friends will be received at Little's funeral Home, 39 Grand Ave. N., this evening.
