  Robert G. Broomfield - A wide circle of friends have been saddened by the death Early Sunday morning of Robert G. Broomfield, which occurred at his home, 14 Peck Street, following three weeks' illness. Mr. Broomfield was a life-long resident of the city, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Broomfield, and was particularly well known through his interest in sports. An active member of local teams as a young man, he participated until his illness in curling and golfing and gave his support to many lines of local sport. It is recalled that he was one of the first promoters of the last professional hockey club here in 1930 and was always keenly interested in the game. Mr. Broomfield was a machinist by trade but entered the grocery trade as a young man, operating a grocery store on Grand avenue south. Later he was a salesman with the W. A. Hunter Company and in recent years a representative of Cosgrave's Company. The sympathy of his many friends will be extended to his wife, the former Gertrude H Davidson, and to an only son, Cameron A. Broomfield, Galt. The late Mr. Broomfield is resting at the T. Little Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. Interment will be in Mount View cemetery. Unidentified Newspaper Obituary
