- Lient.-Col. A. J. Oliver Was Native of Ottawa
Canadian Press GALT. Ont., Feb. 21.-Lieut.- Col. Andrew J. Oliver, long prominent in business, fraternal, municipal and military life here, died today. A native of Ottawa, he came to Galt more than 50 years ago. He joined the Waterloo Regiment in 1898. In January, 1915, he mobilized the 34th battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, and took it overseas. Recently he was honorary lleutenant-colonel of the Highland Light Infantry of Canada.
For the past 43 years he was secretary of Alma Lodge. He was an ardent fisherman, a good shot, golfer and curler, Survivors are
Mrs. Oliver, one son. A. R. Oliver, Galt, and two daughters, Mary at home and Mrs. R. Landry, Moncton, N.B.
