He was born in Vineland Station, Ontario on September 22, 1940. He was married to Marlene (Pegelo) for over 43 years. He will be sadly missed by their children, Nancy Ostermann (Helmut) of Waterloo, Allan (Lynn) Fretz of Cranbrook, Ontario, and William "Bill" at home. He was a beloved Grandpa to Liz (fiance Rick Kristensen of London, Ontario), Margaret and Cathy Ostermann, and Benjamin and Samantha Fretz. Ron was big brother to Marvin (Betty) of Moorefield, Glenn (Jamie) of Waterloo, and Douglas (Karen) of Lancaster, Pa. He was predeceased by his father Dalton in 1971, of Elmhurst, Il, and his mother Irene (Fretz) Ruby in 2002, of Kitchener. Ron was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Kitchener where he was a long time elder and sang in the choir for over 43 years. He always enjoyed driving and at the age of 60 started a new career of driving tractor trailer for Erb Transport. Due to a sudden decline of good health his trucking days were short lived.
