Notes |
- George O. Vair
GALT. George O. Vair, one of Galt's best-known men and a noted sprinter in his day, died suddenly Saturday afternoon. While in failing health he was about as usual until a day or two ago. He was born a couple of miles west of Galt and was one of the city's most ardent ball fans. He spent 17 years in the United States at his trade as molder and while there followed major league baseball, having seen most of the major leaguers of the present century perform. He returned here in 1913. Talking of baseball recently he said Larry Lajoie was the most graceful ball player he had ever seen. Two sons. Dr. Marshall Vair, D.S., Toronto. and Roger, Galt, and one brother. R. R. Vair. San Francisco, survive. The funeral took place on Monday.
