  John Arnold was born in Dorsetshire, England, March 30, 1807 and attended the Church of England, until he joined the W. M. Church a short time before coming to Canada, He came to Canada in 1841 with his wife, settled near Toronto for about 2 years, then moved to Wellesley twp. about 19 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold helped establish a P. M. class on the 7th line of Wellesley. he sold his farm c. 2 years ago and moved to Linwood, where he died. Christian Guardian 5 Jul 1872 pg 2
