Description: Black and white, studio portrait of Captain Solon Albright, in uniform.
Notes: Captain Solon Albright was born 25 July 1890 in Berlin, Ontario, the only child of Mr. & Mrs. Abraham Albright. He enlisted with the 108th Regiment under Lieutenant Colonel Bowman. In October 1915, he went to London and qualified as a lieutenant and was attached to the 118th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. He later transferred to the 241st Windsor Scottish Borderers, where he obtained his captaincy. He went overseas on 24 April 1917 and was attached to the 48th Highlanders. In March 1918, Capt. Albright was invalided to Italy with trench fever and shell-shock. He returned to his battalion in May. He fell at Amiens on 8 August 1918 and was buried at Crovy on the River Somme.

Front: Captain Solon Albright - only child of Mr. & Mrs. Abraham Albright. Born July 25 1890 - enlisted November 1914 with the 108th Regt. C.M. under Lt. Col. Bowman - in Oct. 1915 he went to London and qualified as Lieut - was attached to the staff of the 118th Battn. C.E.F. - later transferred to the 241st Windsor Scottish Borderers - it was with this battalion he obtained his captaincy - he left Windsor April 24, 1917 for overseas - here he was attached to the 48th Highlanders - in March 1918 he was invalided to Italy with trench fever and shell-shock - returned to his battn [sic] in May - he fell at Amiens on Aug. 8, 1918 - buried at Crovy on the River Somme.
