  MARTIN, Lizzie (Mrs. Delton) - Surrounded by her loving family, Lizzie passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira. Lizzie Martin, in her 97th year, formerly of RR 1, Waterloo. Beloved wife of the late Delton Martin (1985). Loving mother of Beatrice and Eldon Martin of Floradale, Florence and Eli Sittler of RR 1, Elmira, Leighton and Florence Martin of RR 1, St. Jacobs, Laverne and Lorna Martin of Hawkesville. Lizzie is the dear grandmother of 21 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Henry W. Martin of Waterloo and sister-in-law of Jacob Weber of RR 4, Elmira and Florence Martin of Texas. Predeceased by her parents, Sidney and Susannah Martin; one grandson, Sanford Martin and his wife Bonnie; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Amos, Thomas and Sidney Martin and four sisters, Annie Martin, Sulinda Bowman, Hannah Bauman and Susannah Weber. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira on Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Sunday, transfer will be made to Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, Hawkesville for funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery. In her memory, donations to Eagle Wings Discipleship Ministries, RR 3, Port Elgin, Ont. N0H 2C7 would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Cards available at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Leisureworld for the care and compassion shown to their mother for the past six years.
